2017 Tempranillo
Rustic masculinity emoting dried cherries, plums, and dark chocolate.
Rand Sealey - 19/20 points
Description
Tasting Notes
My soul hear the songs of the past café days of Spain as I imagine myself sitting with the great Composers Obradoras and Granados discussing songs, life and wine. Each swirl of the wine releases its aromas of dark tobacco essences, herbal notes of sage, and hints of honey. A wine of "rustic masculinity" (strong tannins) that emotes dried cherries, plums, and dark chocolate. This wine sings of old flames...of lost loves. El amor todo lo puede.

Ratings
Rand Sealey: Semi opaque ruby colored, this wine emits intoxicating aromas of blackberries, black cherries, black plums, black roses, mulberry, maduro wrapper, Spanish lavender, sweet herbs, anise and spiced incense. The flavors, as well, are dramatic, with layers of thick black fruits that are infused with black licorice, chicory coffee and Horse Heaven scorched earth. The saturation continues on the back with sensations of semi-dried fruits, roasted almonds, cherry liqueur, leather and graphite, followed by a lingering Rioja-like dryish tannin finish that is smoothed out by lanolin and lifted by vivid fruit acids. 19/20 points.
