Tasting Notes
Our graceful new ‘Collage’ wears the artwork of inspiring artist, Sali Swalla, who paints landscapes of the human spirit. This trio of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Cab Franc, dances on your palate with its silky textures of ripe blackberry, cassis, and savory sagebrush. The spark of emotion Sali’s work elicits is a perfect pairing with this new Merlot blend, for isn’t wine a landscape of terroir and vine, blended with the emotion it evokes?

RAND SEALEY REVIEW: Composed of 69% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, mostly from the Golden Ridge Vineyard, this wine offers a deep ruby color and an intriguing nose of raspberry, cherry, plum, cassis, crushed roses, mulberry, tobacco leaf, orange peel, anise and incense. The medium bodied flavors mirror the aromatics with supple yet well delineated red fruits that are endowed with licorice, cocoa powder, French roast and loam. The back reveals pressed berries, toasted pecans, mocha and pencil lead, all leading into a ripe moderate tannin finish that is bolstered by vivid fruit acids. 19/20 points.
WINE & SPIRITS, DECEMBER 2018: Mostly merlot, this cranberry-red blend leads with a tart fruit scent and cedary green notes. It’s crunchy and juicy, a beam of red cherry, the tannins savory and fairly grippy, giving the wine precision and length. For a midweek flank steak. 92 points.
